Born to wealthy parents, Asami Mai Lee-Rento, a famed Japanese-American makeup artist and Hansuke Heido Rento, a well known architect. Taisei is the second oldest of six sons. From a very young age, he showed great potential and this of course pleased his parents very much. For much of his young life it seemed that Taisei was destined to succeed in whatever he tried his hand in. This of course helped set an example for his younger brothers to come after to follow.

He excelled at the top of his classes in school and by the time he reached high school he had decided to venture into the medical field as a love of helping other people had been born early on and helped drive his dream of being one of the top trauma surgeons in the world, preforming life saving medical procedures day in and day out. He would graduate a year early in 2004 and later on in 2005 begin classes at the private and exclusive MiYukio academy, from which both of his parents are alumni. It was there that his medical training began and also where he met then 20 year old Kaoru Sai, while participating in a drama class required of them for graduation. The two were prompted to act out a scene between two lovers as a demonstration on proper acting techniques but for Taisei, it awakened something he'd never felt before. Romantic affection.

By the spring of 2009, feeling conflicted about his self identity and his sexuality, Taisei finally came out to his family about having romantic feelings for Kaoru and the result was explosive. Due to being strictly traditional, Hansuke found that he could not cope with the idea of one of his sons being gay and in a public display, disowned Taisei and forced him to leave his family, MiYukio Academy, Kaoru, and his dream of being a surgeon behind before he was ever able to breathe a word to Kaoru about how he felt.

In the summer of the same year, Taisei found his footing again when, desperate for money, he set foot in the door of the famed One Love Escort Club in the heart of Tokyo, and left the quiet countryside behind for a fast paced life in the city. Owner of the club, Reiko "Kobra" Asuya instantly became enchanted with the young man she'd pulled from the streets and later found him to be naturally charming and sweet and a hard worker. It was here that Taisei also proved to be a strong leader, and quickly rose in her favor to become one of her top escorts in the course of the four years he would spend under her.

However like many other things, this soon proved to be too good an opportunity to be truthful. It was soon after he became a top escort that a very different side of Reiko came out to play, and to Taisei's utter horror, he found himself trapped in the criminal underbelly of Tokyo were some of the worst possible criminals became his every day clients. But finding it difficult to resist Reiko's persuading ways, he allowed himself to sink deeper into the worlds of pimping and prostitution as well as drug dealing, conning and murder for hire and it was during this time that Taisei met Zara Petrov, a Russian lone assailant and the two became fast friends, but this proved to be the only good thing about his time with Reiko because even worse yet, the club was unveiled to him to be just a legitimate business front for an even more sinister purpose. Reiko was the head of a sex trafficking ring and it did not take her long to set her eyes on Taisei as one of her most important and valuable assets, as he seemed to be too naive and innocent to really understand what was going on and therefore kept his silence about the horrible things he witnessed in the courses of each of his shifts at the club.

But the horror would not stop there. In the fall of 2010, Taisei told Reiko about his sexual orientation of being gay and in her anger, it became the first of many violent attacks lodged against him. It did not take long for Zara however to catch on in the change in her friend's demeanor, and remembering the times Tasiei had previously mentioned a young man he'd had his eye on in school, and fearing for her friend's sanity, she ventured out to track down the mysterious Kaoru Sai and tell him of Taisei and how he was in a bad place and needed his help.

Finally in the end of 2010, to his surprise, he ran into Kaoru again when he decided to also enter the world of being an escort and it was like a spark was lit, Taisei and Kaoru soon found themselves talking every night after the club shut down, and spending time at a near by shooting range where Kaoru was teaching him to shoot straight as a kind of therapy, and by the winter of 2011, Taisei came to realize that he had never stopped feeling the way he had about Kaoru at MiYukio and later in the same year they finally went public with their relationship, much to the irritance of Reiko, who could not bare to think of Taisei being with anyone other than her.
